Leaders distort reality

Leaders distort reality

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” -John Quincy Adams

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” An astronaut, a basketball player, a singer, an artist?  At a young age, any lofty response other than “a murderer” is accepted and generally encouraged.  “Sure, you can be whatever your little heart desires.”  When does this change, and more importantly, WHY does it change? At what point do we begin rejecting dreams and promoting ‘reality?’

“Reality is mediated by perception, and perception can be manipulated.” -Jason Silva

Leaders reject the notion of one-dimensional reality.  Leaders distort reality; recognizing distortion becomes real when ideas are brought to life.

Ask yourself, are you living the life you’ve dreamed of? If the answer is no, why not?  What’s holding you back from actualizing your aspirations?  Fear?  Societal expectations? Excuses?  Obligations?

Are you willing to die having lived a complacent life structured and assembled by a predetermined reality? If not, perhaps it’s time to distort your reality.
